Local real estate investment firm contributes funds and food to support families in need

HONOLULU — ProsPac Holdings Group hosted a three-day food and fund drive at its Azure Ala Moana Plaza in support of Hawai‘i Foodbank. Employees collected 854 pounds of non-perishable food items, including canned fruits and vegetables, canned proteins, canned meals, bags of rice and financial contributions, totaling $19,426.81. The donation will provide 42,479 meals to individuals, families and kūpuna in need this holiday season.

“Hawai‘i Foodbank serves over 160,000 people every month — numbers our state has not seen since the peak of the pandemic,” said Amy Miller Marvin, president and CEO of Hawai‘i Foodbank. “The continued support from organizations like ProsPac and our entire community is deeply appreciated and allows friends, families and neighbors to put food on the table.”

According to Hawai‘i Foodbank, nearly one in three households in Hawai‘i are food insecure — meaning they can’t access the food they need to thrive. Hawai‘i Foodbank works collaboratively with a network of more than 225 agency partners on O‘ahu and Kaua‘i, along with affiliate food banks Maui Food Bank and The Food Basket, to provide food assistance to the State of Hawai‘i. Last year, Hawai‘i Foodbank distributed food for 17.7 million nutritious meals — over a quarter of which was fresh, healthy produce.

“We’re grateful for everyone who participated in our food and fund drive to help Hawai‘i Foodbank,” said Rick Stack, executive vice president, ProsPac Holdings. “Far too many people in our community are food insecure, and together, we can make a difference in the lives of local families this holiday season.”

This is the second year ProsPac has held its food and fund drive at Azure Ala Moana, a high-rise community it completed in 2021. In total, the company has contributed over $120,000 to Hawai‘i Foodbank and Maui Food Bank, helping provide food for over a quarter of a million meals to individuals and families in need.
